Blame “Mom.” She (Colleen) was an example of an artist that would never quit, often painting until 3 a.m., grabbing a cat nap, and then heading to work where she managed a publication’s art department. Candy has a photographer’s eye and skill set that captures personality in every photo. Melody utilizes water-soluble oils and pastels to create her paintings which include vineyards, farms, and seascapes. The trio was selected to exhibit their work at the Mission Trails Regional Park Interpretive Center.
Framed/with protective glass.
Acrylic 42”wx35”, $3500, multiple awards
A fine artist and graphic artist, Colleen’s dream was to own an art gallery in Laguna Beach, known as Coco Bien Objet d’ Art. She started the gallery after graduating with her bachelor’s degree in fine art at the age of 55. Providing graphic art for advertising firms as a freelancer, Colleen went to work at Disneyland in the late 1950s as a portrait artist. To prove her ability, she had to paint multiple portraits in a timed performance on stage. While she often had lunch with Roy Disney, she never seemed to recognize Walt, and often offered to do his portrait. Colleen’s work has won numerous awards from San Bernardino, to Hollywood, and to Laguna. Her work is in the collections of prominent Hollywood movie stars. One of her pieces is in the Vincent Price Private Art Collection.
Candace “Candy” has been known for her photographer’s eye and talent since childhood. Growing up in an artistic family, she apprenticed with her father and later began a journey as an award-winning photographer. She creates unique product, architecture, portraiture, and wildlife imagery. She has served as the staff photographer for the San Diego Padres Baseball Club. She has won numerous awards of excellence from Professional Photographers of America and chosen by the Mission Trails Art Show in San Diego, competing against more than 100 artists.

Melody has drawn her way through life, often doodling people while sitting in board meetings. Her doodles have become comics “Franger Chicken” and “Ancient Chicken.” A storyteller of tall tales, Melody did not discover her talent for painting until she organized the Old Town Temecula Street Painting Festival in 2001. Since she has found a love for pastels and palette knife painting. She is also the author and illustrator of “Norm the Normal Dog” and “Franker Chicken – The Time Traveling Fowl.” Living in Southern California Wine Country, she often provides unique views of vineyards and wineries.
